Working with a team of developers, we were asked by Network Tasman to create an app that alerts customers of current and scheduled power outages in the Nelson/Tasman region. I was tasked to design both the user interface (UI) as well as the user experience (UX). Having such a wide range of potential customer types with an even wider range of devices (both on iOS and Android), the goal was to make information clear and concise, and the app itself very simple to navigate. Starting with basic wireframes and then moving on to concept mockups, I developed a design system based on the Network Tasman brand look and feel, using colours and simple icons which could then be scaled between the various device sizes.
